Derrick Cullors is a former NFL runningback of the New England Patriots. He played under the leadership of super bowl and future hall of fame coach Bill Parcells and Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, former national championship coach of the USC Trojans. During his time in the NFL he was a leading kick returner and special teams player. Derrick played with great players such as Hall of Fame player Curtis Martin, Terry Glenn, Ben Coates, Ty Law, Tedy Bruschy, Adam Venatieri, and many others.
Derrick was given a full scholarship to Texas Christian University and Murray State University. In his senior year he was an unanimous Division 1-AA First Team All- American Runningback, Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All Conference Runningback. While rushing for 1765 yds and 20 touchdowns and finishing 2nd in the voting for the Walter Payton Award, which is equivalent to the Heisman trophy of Division 1-A, Derrick broke six school records and one NCAA 1-AA record for most touchdowns in a single game(6).
He is originally from Dallas, TX where he attended Sunset High and graduated from Lake Highlands High with 4 former and current NFL players.
Combining his professional experience and expert knowledge, Derrick started "5" as a way to give back to the community. He speak at schools and businesses in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area using his 5 Points to Success. Helping others reach their health and life goals by keeping them focused on their future is one of the greatest motivations for Derrick.
